INSPIRATIONAL

Big Magic by Elizabeth Gilbert

A book that makes you high on life and savor its beauty. Understanding how ideas work makes life so interesting as you look at it from a changed perspective. Most of the population, including me, went through life wondering if we were the unlucky few who weren’t gifted with a creative eye or talent. But in actuality, the concept of creating things of beauty just to admire and for the sake of it is ingrained in the lizard brains of the human species. It’s our birthright to live a creative life and this book will inspire and get you kickstarted.

It’s remarkable to see Malalas fight against oppression with her family by her side. All in a country that prizes men. This book shows what courage and fierce love can accomplish.

“When the whole world is silent, even one voice becomes powerful.” - Malala Yousafzai

Buddhist Bootcamp by Timber Hawkeye

This was one of the first books recommended by my mentor growing up. It helped jump-start my journey to understand myself and the world a little better. You can open this book up from any page and start reading any chapter as they are not interdependent. It's an amazing tool if you ever feeling a bit confused or lost as you can instinctively flip open to a chapter and reflect on that specific teaching.

This book should be right at the top of the list but since you have made it so far then you definitely deserve the wisdom it contains. This is not a storybook but a study book that you have to go through again and again until you own it. If you follow through, it will change your life on the mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual levels.

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill

“Whether you think you can, or you think you can't – you're right,” - Henry Ford. IT IS THINKING THAT MAKES IT SO. Napoleon Hill dedicated his life to study and understand how successful and unsuccessful people think and make decisions. Published during the Great Depression 80+ years ago, it is still a legendary book for people who want to achieve their fullest potential in life.

The Six Pillars of Self Esteem by Nathaniel Branden

Self-esteem is an essential human need. This excerpt from the book summarises the concept perfectly:

“In some regions in Mexico the soil contains no calcium; the inhabitants of these regions do not perish outright, but their growth is stunted, they are generally debilitated, and they are prey to many diseases to which the lack of calcium makes them highly susceptible. They are impaired in their ability to function. Self-esteem is a need analogous to calcium, rather than to food or water.”

DOCUMENTARIES

Our world is in a dire situation so as you go through these following documentaries you might feel hopeless but that is not the goal of these recommendations. Whenever you feel overwhelmed by the information and “injustice” it will be uplifting to keep in mind this following quote from the home country of one of FABORGs founders- Elen Tsopp:

''The situation may be shit, but it's our fertilizer for the future''.

- Lennart Meri, First president of Estonia.
